Throwback Thursday ~ Elf on the Shelf
Posted on 01:09 by blogger
I'm so sad I won't be in my class this year to participate in our classroom Elf on the Shelf. In honor of all the fun, this week's Throwback Thursday is from last year's Elf on the Shelf!
I just introduced "Elf on the Shelf" in my classroom today and the students loved it! It's such a fun way to get into the holiday spirit and is a great tool to use to enforce good behavior.
First, I read the story to the class.
Next, we voted on a name for our classroom elf. After many choices, the class voted on Bella!

Once our elf had a name, we decorated the door. After all, she needs a way to get in and out of the classroom!
Lastly, we did a craft activity. Students created their own elf and wrote about it!
I printed the craft activity from Teachers Pay Teachers using a variety of worksheets:
Both activities are free to download!
Here are some mischievous activities that Bella participated in.
Bella read a lovely story to her friends.
Just hanging around the classroom.
Bella built a Jenga fort!
She was so tired and decided a tissue box was the best spot for her nap.
Just catching up on some Christmas shopping.
Snow angel fun!
An intense game of tic-tac-toe going on in class.

Baby Taylor's Modern Nursery
Posted on 00:09 by blogger
The nursery is done!! Now all we need is a baby! With my due date sneaking up on me, I finally was able to complete the finishing touches and get everything just perfect before Taylor arrives and the room is a complete disaster!
I wanted to make the room simple and have a modern feel. I tried to keep it mostly gray, white, and pink with a few hints of yellow. I didn't want to clutter up the room with tons of wall decor and busy prints. I tried to make it a peaceful room that is inviting but also fun. Ok baby girl, just waiting on you.
Here is my original vision board:
And here's the final product:

Posted on 00:01 by blogger
The end is near!!!!! I'm ready to meet our little girl and be done with being pregnant! Any day now...hurry up! Hooray for month 9!
How far along? 36 weeks
Baby is the size of a: Honeydew and weighs 6 pounds!
Total weight gain: I don't want to know anymore. I don't need to raise my blood pressure at this point!
Maternity clothes? Yes yes yes, it's all about comfort right now.
Labor Signs: Not yet. Hopefully soon!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! I'm just so excited!
Looking forward to: Meeting our daughter in the next few weeks!

Stretch marks? Not that I can see. There's probably some hiding under my belly somewhere.
Sleep: I'm really great at napping but can't manage to sleep through the night.

Exercise: I walk to the mailbox every day. Does that count?
Miss Anything: Just about everything. I miss feeling wonderful, not being so large and in charge, having energy and strength... The list goes on and on.
Movement: All day, every day! She's ready to rumble!
Food cravings: my cravings seem to have subsided this month. I'm not craving anything in particular.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of maple syrup, many random food scents make me queasy. Miss Anything: Just about everything. I miss feeling wonderful, not being so large and in charge, having energy and strength... The list goes on and on.
